"...if you don’t fall in love with yourself, no one else will." I don't get it. I've read it a thousand times by several other people but I still don't get it. I've never been able to get it. Because in reality, noone loves you because you're so love-able, they love you because they choose to. And no matter how hard you try accepting yourself, people still don't. And if loving yourself means changing the way you are in a subtle way, then that's not 'yourself' anymore, you're loving the idea of what everyone could love about you. I don't believe in this because how you see the world or yourself is based a lot on how life has treated you, and you can't just ctrl+alt+del those parts of your memory, they impact how you behave even if they're stories you won't say out loud about yourself. But it still seems like people see through you, the possible turmoil, the obvious unsettling experiences, and they see you only as that then, the reason neither would they ever love you. You SHOULD still learn to love yourself, you're right, but not if because otherwise noone else will. Rather you should, because noone else will, like they haven't, and like they possibly can't. Because that's just how you are.
