No More Dream

There’s a point in life where you’re running after everything you believe is essential to achieve something in life.

Subconsciously you are being fed that information as the only right way to succeed and somehow even if you think you are not part of this rat race, you do take part in it, whether it is for something as simple as to make the people who matter the most to you proud of you or even to achieve a status you believe will make you feel accomplished.

It is not to say you want to appease anyone. But there’s a metaphor often used for kids, “kora kaghaz” (a blank sheet of paper). As many years as you spend on this planet, the ink of what all surrounds you seeps into that paper. At some point in time you finally realize you never chose any of that, it was pushed onto you and that’s where you start to doubt your dreams, your goals, your aspirations, your journey…

You start to question your purpose in life and what makes you stand out or if anything does at all. And this stage can be a moment or a span of years. Sometimes it can be initiated by conscious self-reflection and sometimes by circumstances or situations.

To me, No More Dream is about that struggle. To me it is special because not a lot of people take up the task to talk about this openly, somehow they fear seeming vulnerable or possibly lost, all valid but the silence and packaging away of these thoughts in a corner eats them up. They either continue to choose to conform to norms pushed upon them or lose themselves in the way.

To me, this is an ode to those struggles, a reminder that one is not alone in them, and an attempt to urge everyone to embrace the desire to dream but for themselves and when they are ready for it. One should aspire to grow and seek inspiration for none are born to this world as the all-knowing. But do not let the knowledge of what can be achieved make you constantly question what you have.

When you see success, you see the harvest, but everything that goes into it is never the same for two. Do not let your circumstances be a barrier, but do not ignore them to the point where you forget everything that has pulled you down in your effort to rise.

Your success is not only what you have acquired but everything that you pushed back while it tried to push you off the ladder. We applaud the warrior for the victories, but whether the wounds are visible to the public eye or not, they do matter. Your journey does matter.
